Terms & Conditions

Using this private Washington County released-records resource means accepting these terms. Stop using the site if you do not agree.

This is not a Washington County or Maryland government website. It cannot confirm custody, release a person, change a record, give legal advice, or act for any public office.

Nature of the Website

The site is a privately operated reference resource with no affiliation, endorsement, or agency relationship involving WCSO, a jail, a court, Maryland DPSCS, MPC, DPP, VINE, BOP, ICE, USMS, or any other government body. It hosts explanatory content and links, not official custody or release records.

Acceptable Use Rules

Visitors may use the site only for lawful purposes. Do not disrupt its operation, bypass security, scrape or overload services, introduce malicious code, misrepresent identity, harass a person, violate privacy, copy protected content at scale, or use information in a way that violates law or another person’s rights.

FCRA Uses Are Prohibited

This site is not a consumer reporting agency and does not provide consumer reports under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Its pages, links, records references, photographs, or search results may not be used for credit, employment, hiring, housing, tenant screening, insurance, or any other FCRA-covered eligibility decision. Users are responsible for understanding and following all applicable laws.

Outside Services and Links

Links to government offices, search partners, and other sites are offered for convenience. A link is not an endorsement, warranty, or promise that the destination is accurate, available, secure, or suitable. Outside operators control their own content, privacy practices, prices, and terms.

No Warranties

The site is provided “as is” and “as available,” without express or implied warranties to the fullest extent allowed by law. No warranty is made as to accuracy, completeness, currency, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, noninfringement, or uninterrupted operation. Government rosters and links can change without notice.

Limits on Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site’s owners and operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive loss arising from use, inability to use, reliance on content, outside tools, security events, or actions taken from information found here. Some jurisdictions limit exclusions, so the limit applies only as far as law allows.

Your Duty to Indemnify

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold the site and its owners and operators harmless from claims, losses, liabilities, costs, and reasonable legal fees arising from your misuse, violation of these terms, unlawful conduct, or infringement of another person’s rights.

Content Ownership

Original site text, organization, branding, and design are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. Government records and linked agency materials remain subject to their own legal status. No ownership in outside content is claimed. Limited personal use does not grant a right to republish or commercially exploit site materials.

Terms May Change

These terms may be revised at any time. Updated terms apply when posted unless another effective date is stated. Continued use after publication means acceptance of the revised version.

Access Can Be Revoked

Access may be restricted, suspended, or ended at any time, with or without notice, including when use threatens the site, another user, an outside service, or legal compliance.

Maryland Law Applies

These terms are governed by Maryland law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where federal law controls. Any dispute must be brought in a court with lawful jurisdiction.

If One Term Fails

If a provision is held invalid or unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only to the extent required. The remaining provisions continue in effect.

Questions About These Terms
